What are the common problems that teams of any kind ( sports, business, etc) have in front of them when performing a task?

With globalization, teams are taking on a different character today: members could be dispersed over the globe. Technology makes it possible for teams to communicate wherever, whenever they wish. But sometimes technology is the obstacle: it may not be available, it may be unreliable, the team members may not be fully skilled in using it as a seamless communication tool. Sometimes more attention is given to the technology than the task at hand. Solution? Proper training of team members in the use of the technologies so that they reach the stage where the technology is seen only as a tool, and does not become the major focus of the project.
